Man flown to hospital after tractor overturns near Penrith

[A] man has been flown to hospital after his tractor overturned trapping him in the cab.

At 4:24pm Tuesday 31 July firefighters were called to High Knipe Road in Askham.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to free him from the overturned vehicle and then handed him over to the care of paramedics.

“The man was taken to hospital via air ambulance.

“Fire crews were in attendance for around an hour and 20 minutes.”
