[C]umbria Police are asking businesses, especially pubs and hotels in the south of the county, to be vigilant following a spate of break-in burglaries.
Overnight (2nd – 3rd August), at least six pubs have been subject to break-in burglaries, involving the theft of cash.
Break-ins have currently been reported in the following areas:
- Sandside
- Crosthwaite
- Grange-Over-Sands
- Arnside
Detective Inspector, Helen Curme, said: “We are currently investigating these reports and ask anyone with information to get in touch. We would also ask other premises in these areas to check their CCTV for any suspicious activity, or vehicles on their car parks in the early hours of the morning.”
Local community policing teams will be paying additional attention to the areas concerned.
Anyone who has seen or who sees any suspicious activity, which includes individuals approaching premises after hours, is asked to contact police on 101. Always dial 999 in an emergency.
