[A] 4-year-old girl has been taken to hospital in Newcastle after being knocked down and trapped under a car.
Emergency services were called to Lowther Caravan Park near Penrith at approx 10pm on Friday 10th August.
A BEEP Fund Dr from Penrith attended at the request of Northwest Ambulance Service.
Dr Theo Weston said: “A 4-year-old child had been knocked down and run over by a car.
“She was helped out from under the car by passersby who lifted the car off her.
“She suffered a variety of injuries which were treated at the scene by the NWAS paramedics and the BEEP Fund Dr, who then travelled in the ambulance with the child to the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle. She remained stable during the journey.
“She has subsequently been transferred to the RVI in Newcastle for further ongoing specialist care.”
