Police appeal after attempted armed robbery in Carlisle

[P]olice in Carlisle are investigating an attempted robbery at a newsagents on Newlaithes Avenue.

At approximately 6.30am yesterday (12th August) a man entered the store and demanded money from a staff member, a woman in her 20s. The man, who was holding a knife, left the store without taking anything.

Police are appealing for anyone with any information on the incident or noticed anything suspicious in the area at the time.
