Police appeal after attempted armed robbery in Carlisle

[P]olice in Carlisle are investigating an attempted robbery at a newsagents on Newlaithes Avenue.

At approximately 6.30am yesterday (12th August) a man entered the store and demanded money from a staff member, a woman in her 20s. The man, who was holding a knife, left the store without taking anything.

Police are appealing for anyone with any information on the incident or noticed anything suspicious in the area at the time.

Anyone with any information is asked to email [email protected] or call 101, quoting incident number 60 of the 12th August. Alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
