Man hurt in Barrow attack

[P]olice are investigating an assault which took place on Duke Street, Barrow, at approximately 9:30 pm on Monday 6th August.

The incident started with a group of young people throwing fallen apples into traffic. A male, aged in his 40s, challenged their behaviour and was assaulted by at least two, possibly three, males from the group.

He has been left with bruising to his left eye, right shoulder and ribs.

Two of the offenders are described as:

  • A white male, 5ft 6, stocky/muscular build, with a shaven head and a dark grey vest top.
  • A white male, about 5ft 10, with short dark hair and a black jacket.

Both were estimated to be in their early 20s.
