Police appeal after attempted armed robbery at Carlisle newsagents

Police want to speak to this man

[P]olice investigating an attempted robbery in Carlisle have released a CCTV image of a person they would like to speak to.

At approximately 6.30am on 12th August a man entered Notmans Newsagents, on Newlaithes Avenue, and demanded money from a staff member. The man, who was holding a knife, left the store without taking anything.

Police would like to speak to the man pictured in the CCTV footage as part of their investigation.
