[T]he shortlists for the UK manufacturing industry’s most coveted awards have been revealed and Workington based manufacturing business TSP Engineering has been shortlisted for the People and Skills Award.
Other companies including Accolade Wines, BMW and Jaguar Land Rover are among those that have been shortlisted in the ten categories.
One of them will go on to be judged The Manufacturer of the Year.
The Manufacturer MX Awards 2018 are supported by headline sponsor Santander, judging partner High Value Manufacturing Catapult, and category sponsors Autodesk, Boyden, Dell Technologies and Sage.
Nick Peters, Editorial Director of The Manufacturer, said, “There are dozens of awards programmes in the manufacturing sector, but The Manufacturer MX Awards stands head and shoulders above them all. And that is why great companies are so eager to take part, because they know they are being tested in a way no other programme can offer. It’s demanding, but companies embrace it because, perhaps for the first time, they are being benchmarked against the best. So, congratulations to TSP Engineering and our other short-listed companies. We look forward to meeting you on the judging tour in September and at the gala awards ceremony in Liverpool in November. May the best companies win!”
Paul Brooks, UK Head of Manufacturing, Santander Corporate & Commercial, said: “Supporting manufacturers remains a key focus for Santander in 2018 and sponsoring these fantastic awards is one way to showcase our commitment to the sector throughout the year. We understand the fundamental importance of manufacturing to the success of the UK economy and that’s why it’s so exciting to see so many innovative and new finalists making the shortlist. We look forward to celebrating with them in November at the awards.”
TSP Engineering have been shortlisted in the People and Skills category, sponsored by Boyden. This award recognises a company culture that promotes learning, focusing on talent and performance, as well as encouraging openness among employees about their development needs and assessing and addressing both the current and future skill needs of the business. The winner will be announced at the black tie gala dinner on 15 November at the Exhibition Centre Liverpool.
John Coughlan, CEO of TSP engineering said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted for the People and Skills Award and are very much looking forward to the big event – being judged and recognised by your peers is one of the strongest reinforcements anyone can receive.”
