Washing machine sparks Frizington kitchen blaze

At 11am today, Friday 31 August firefighters from Whitehaven attended a fire at Lingla Bank, Frizington.

The fire involved a washing machine in the kitchen of a semi-detached property.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Crews used four breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, one dog was also released from property.

“The team remained at scene for one hour.”
