Police have confirmed that a body found earlier today (10th September) on Flimby beach has been formally identified as Norman Renney.
Mr Renney, aged 71, from Workington was previously circulated as missing.
His family have paid tribute to his life, they said: “Norman was the best father, grandfather and great grandfather. He was a true gentleman and will be missed by all his family and friends.”
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “His death is not being treated as suspicious and the Coroner has been informed.”
