Three pedestrians hurt in Botchergate crash

Three pedestrians have been injured after two cars collided on Botchergate in Carlisle.

Police were called at 7pm on Saturday (15th September) to a collision outside the Rambler pub, which involved a taxi, a black Ford Fiesta and three pedestrians.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “This is not being treated as a deliberate act.

“Their injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

“All parties involved are currently being supported by emergency services and the police are not looking for anyone else in connection to the incident.”

A spokesman for Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 7.08pm, two fire engines from Carlisle West and Longtown were called to a road traffic collision on Botchergate.

“Crews assisted the ambulance service to provide casualty care and make the scene safe.”

Botchergate was closed earlier than normal to vehicles to allow emergency services to attend the scene and recover the vehicles.
