At 6:34pm yesterday, Sunday 16 September fire engines from Barrow and Walney attended a fire at a domestic property on Whitehead Street, Barrow.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Fire crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.
“One casualty was transported to hospital by ambulance, suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation.
“Fire crews were in attendance for approximately one hour.”
