Firefighters rescue trapped cow

At 3:48pm yesterday, Sunday 23 September two fire engines from Brampton and Carlisle West were mobilised to a report of a large animal rescue on Town Head Road, West Hall.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “On arrival, crews found a cow trapped between two metal posts.

“Firefighters used Holmatro cutting equipment to release the cow.

“Crews were at scene for approximately forty minutes.”
