Officers received a report of concern for a woman at 8.30pm on Thursday (September 20) . Upon arrival at an address on Shrewsbury Crescent, the bodies of two individuals were found inside the property.

The identities of the deceased are Alan Matthew Martin, 53, of Gardiner Square, Sunderland, and Kay Michelle Martin 49, of Shrewsbury Crescent, Sunderland.
