Eden Volunteering Fair

eden vol fair octCumbria CVS is encouraging local people to Make a Difference in their Community and Volunteer in Eden. An Eden Volunteering Fair is taking place on Monday 15 October 2018 from 12-1.30pm at the Masonic Hall, North Road ,Kirkby Stephen , Cumbria ,CA17 4RH, which is funded by Eden Community Fund by Eden District Council.

Cumbria CVS is inviting anyone who is interested in finding out about local volunteering opportunities in Eden to come along to the next Volunteering Fair to find out more about volunteering. This is a fantastic opportunity to speak to over 12 organisations that are looking to recruit new volunteers. Organisations will be on hand for people to meet informally to discuss volunteering including ones operating in the area of family support, children and youth, older people, care, advice work, fundraising, witness service, retail, administration, carers, disability, trustees, driving, befriending and lots more, etc.

Local organisations that are looking to recruit new volunteers will be attending the event include Stainmore Railway Company, East Cumbria Family Support Association, North West Air Ambulance, Learning Fields CIC, Eden Carers , Citizens Advice Witness Service, Eden Animal Rescue, HITES Cumbria – BID Services , Age UK Carlisle and Eden, Depaul UK, People First, Cumbria County Council, WelBeing, and Cumbria CVS.

Why not come along to find out how just a small amount of your time can benefit your local community as well as helping yourself. Volunteering is a great opportunity to meet new people, widen social networks, increase confidence, gain experience, share existing skills and to try something new!

Judith Smale, County Volunteer Support Officer for Cumbria CVS says; “This event will be a fantastic opportunity to be inspired to volunteer. Local organisations will show you how your time can make a huge difference to individuals and charities that need more people to come forward to volunteer in Eden and surrounding areas.“
