Police investigating a suspicious incident reported as an attempted abduction in Allonby on Thursday (27 Sept) have concluded their investigations.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Following extensive enquiries and diligent investigation work involving a number of officers, including the examination of CCTV footage, detectives have concluded there is no evidence such an offence has taken place.
“Officers have been successful in identifying and speaking with all relevant parties who have subsequently been ruled out of any wrong-doing. As a result no suspicions remain relating to this report, which may have been a genuine misunderstanding reported in error.
“Cumbria Police takes this type of report extremely seriously and officers would like to thank the local community for their diligence and patience while the officers carried out their investigation.”
