At 12.30pm today, Wednesday 10 October, HM Coastguard requested Morecambe’s RNLI volunteer lifeboat crew to go to the aid of a person reported to be cut off by the incoming tide, in the vicinity of Jenny Brown’s Point, near Silverdale.
A Morecambe RNLI spokesman said: “The inshore lifeboat was launched within 10 minutes of the call and made its way to the area; where the crew located an adult male stranded on a rock, surrounded by water.
“The casualty was taken on board the inshore lifeboat and safely transported to shore.
“The volunteer crew then returned to station.”
