The Winter Droving is a festival in Penrith which will delight the town on Saturday 27th October with an array of market stalls and food, music, games, performers and a spectacular lantern procession. This year Myriad Studio are inviting people to join the magical lantern procession, dressed as Myriad Wizards!
Myriad Studio is a community interest company which runs creative workshops in Penrith which are fun, social and open to all. They are running a workshop for people to make entire wizard outfits. The workshop is at Penrith Old Fire Station on Saturday 20th October, 10am-5pm, you do not need to stay the whole time. Anyone can attend the workshop, all ages skills and abilities welcome.
During the workshop people will create their own wizard staff, hat and cloak, which are all easy and fun to create.
The staffs will be made from wood, fabric and recycled plastic, the hats out of fabric and recycled cardboard and the sleeved cloak out of fabric. All embellished with fairy lights, bells, bits of nature and whatever else we can get our hands on!
The workshop is £20 for adults and £10 for children, which includes all materials and there will be complementary hot drinks and snacks. These workshops are supported by Eden Arts. People are welcome to bring any materials they wish to add to their outfits.
Katarina Prior, Myriad Studio Director said: “Join us for a very fun way of getting involved in such a great festival! Come and play with a massive amount of different materials, and with our help make your own unique wizard costume.”
