Cumbria County Council will be carrying out essential highways improvement works to a number of roads in the Brougham area, commencing on Monday 22 October.
The roads to be treated were all previously used as diversion routes when Eamont Bridge was closed following Storm Desmond. The works will include resurfacing, drainage and kerb repairs. The works will require a temporary road closure, with signed diversions in place.
The first section to be resurfaced will be the C3047 Cliburn Road, from the A6 to Clifton Dyke Cottages. This phase of the works will begin on Monday 22 October for one week. A signed diversion will be in place for local traffic via the C3046 and for HGV’s via the A66.
Works will then progress to the C3048 (Moor Lane) from Monday 29 October, before moving on to the B6262 and U3182 during November.
All of the works are weather dependant and are programmed to be completed by the end of November.
