Cartmel Racecourse has announced a release of 1,856 early bird admission tickets for next summer’s racing fixtures are to go on sale on Thursday 1st November.
The discounted tickets will be available for general admission including Course, Paddock and the new ‘1856 Lounge’ (introduced this July as ‘Paddock Platinum’).
The release of the limited 1,856 tickets and the re-naming of the new VIP cocktail lounge in the Paddock enclosure celebrate the beginning of racing at Cartmel. 1856 was the first year that Cartmel Racecourse was included in the racing calendar and it held just three flat races on Whit Monday, 12th May. 162 years later, the now venue holds a further eight race days each summer and attracts some of the largest crowds in racing, yet still retains much of its charm and uniqueness.
Steve Cooper, Managing Director at Cartmel Racecourse said, “The crowds that attend Cartmel really enjoy the relaxed, celebratory atmosphere here and one of the most popular areas this summer was the party tent village. These mini marquees are perfect for private parties and due to the demand for them this year, we will be introducing a second party tent village in the course enclosure next summer.
“As Cartmel is one of the most family-friendly Racecourses, we have been looking at ways to encourage families to come and enjoy a day out at the races. Children under 18 can come to any of our regular racedays free of charge and there are always children’s race cards available to collect. For families looking for the best value way to come and experience a day at Cartmel, our Early Bird tickets offer the best prices and our flexible camping packages are an affordable way to extend your trip over a weekend.
“We know that most people like to be able to secure their tickets and spaces early, so this year we are going on sale around 3 months earlier than usual. That way, our customers can plan their trip in advance and secure accommodation, which tends to get booked up quickly.”
Admission tickets for 2019 start at just £5 per adult for Course admission on Wednesday 29th May (an evening fixture). For those who like to stay overnight during the racing, two and four night camping packages will be available, as well as a full season (18 night) camping package.
The 2019 Cartmel racing season will commence on Saturday 25th May with a full fixture list available on their website. All tickets including general admission (with the first 1,856 at the Early Bird rate), party tents, hospitality and camping will be available to book online from Thursday 1st November at www.cartmel-racecourse.co.uk.
