Emergency services are dealing with a road traffic collision on the A5086 in the area of Deanscales.
Police were called today (29th October) at 3.33pm following a multi-vehicle collision.
The road was closed in both directions from the Pardshaw and Deans crossroad.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “At 3:33pm two fire engines from Whitehaven and Cockermouth attended a road traffic collision with persons trapped on the A5086 in Deanscales.
“Fire crews used Holmatro cutting equipment to release four casualties from a vehicle and were in attendance for two hours.”
