Boy, 3, hurt in Carlisle hit-and-run

Police are appealing for information after a collision today in Carlisle involving a car and two pedestrians, one of whom was a three-year-old boy.

The collision occurred at about 2.40pm.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “Officers are investigating after the car involved left the scene of the collision, which happened at the pedestrian crossing outside Scotby Cycles, at the bottom of Wigton Road.

“There were no serious injuries. The boy was taken by the adult with him to the city’s Cumberland Infirmary.

“The car involved is reported to have been a black Seat, with the partial registration GS17.

“The driver was a woman, aged under 25. She is described as having brown hair, was white and was wearing glasses.”

Anyone with information is asked to call PC 2484 Victoria Campbell on 101, referencing incident 135 of October 31.
