A MAN accused of threatening another person with a machete in Kendal has appeared in court.
Liam Steven James Christian is also alleged to have assaulted his sister during incidents which are said to have taken place in and around an address on the town’s Langdale Crescent.
Christian, 22, appeared in the dock at Carlisle Crown Court earlier today (WED), and entered not guilty pleas to three charges.
He denied the alleged threatening of Alan Ure with a bladed article – a machete. Christian further denied two alleged assaults – one on Mr Ure and a second on Demi May, the defendant’s sister.
All three charges arise out of an incidents which are said to have occurred at around 3pm on September 29.
Christian, of Kirkland View, Kendal, spoke in court to confirm his name, date of birth, nationality and to enter the pleas.
A timetable for the progression of the case was outlined by the prosecution.
Christian is due to stand trial in front of a jury at the crown court on November 20. It is estimated that hearing will last two days.
In the meantime, Christian was remanded in custody by Judge Andrew Jefferies QC.
