Carlisle burglary suspects appear in court

Two men appeared at North and West Cumbria Magistrates Court from custody today (Thurs) charged with attempted aggravated burglary of property on Petteril Street in Carlisle on October 31.

Tony Mc Neil, 27, gave his address as Chesterholm, Carlisle. along side him in the dock was Leighton John Lewis, 25, of Lediard Avenue, Carlisle.

District Judge Gerald Chalk was told by prosecutor Diane Jackson that the allegation is the pair attempted to enter the property with the intention of stealing.

There was no plea entered by either man and they were remanded into custody, the Judge sent the case to Carlisle Crown Court where they will appear on December 3.
