Penrith man charged with alleged rapes

A Penrith man appeared at North and West Cumbria Magistrates Court in Carlisle, from custody charged with three allegations of rape.

Simon Peter Turnbull, 44, gave his address as Fairhill Road, Penrith, the three-accusations are that between January 1st and 31st July he allegedly committed rape on a girl under the age of 13 at Penrith, the accusation is, it was the same girl involved.

Turnbull did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody to appear at Carlisle Crown Court on December 10.
