Saturday 10th November will see the opening of a brand new gym within The Wave Centre in Maryport.
Funded by Allerdale Borough Council and facilitated by Better, over £90,000 has been invested in market leading Technogym equipment. There’ll be 30 stations of cardio and resistance equipment plus a range of free weights and functional kit.
The centre already features a Clip ‘n Climb, indoor caving facility, 200 seat theatre space and café area.
Martin Horne, Area Manager for Better in Allerdale said: “We’re delighted to be opening this brand new gym which provides another great additional facility in The Wave Centre.
“We’re looking forward to offering something new to existing customers and also welcoming new customers into the centre too over the coming weeks and months.”
Michael Heaslip, Executive Member with responsibility for leisure centres, said: “This is a great investment into the Wave Centre in Maryport which will open the facility up to a whole new audience. We’re putting in the latest gym equipment, which is available in our other leisure centres, and so it’s great to be able to offer it to the people of Maryport as well. This is all part of our commitment to improving access to sport and leisure facilities in our communities.”
Throughout the opening day on Saturday 10th November the team from Better will be on hand to give tours of the centre and demonstrate the new equipment. The gym will be open from 10.30am. There will be an official ribbon cutting ceremony at 10.15am.
Gym membership is just £19.95 month, with a £15 off joining fees offer and a free goody bag available for those signing up on the day. There will be a special Clip ‘n Climb offer, too, on the day with climbs for just £1.
The gym will be open Monday to Wednesday from 9am to 8pm and Thursday to Sunday from 9am to 5pm.
