Teenagers suspected of stealing medication from house in Whitehaven

Police in Whitehaven are investigating a burglary where a large amount of medication was stolen from a house.

The burglary occurred at some point between 8pm and midnight yesterday (9th November) at a property on Cambridge Road.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The suspects are a group of teenagers, aged 13-16.

“During the burglary damage was caused within the property before offenders stole electrical items along with a large amount of alcohol and medication.

“The suspects are being sought by officers and there is concern for their welfare due to the nature of the medication stolen.

“If any large amount is consumed it could result in serious harm to the individual.”

If anyone should be offered any prescription medication for sale, they should refuse and contact police immediately.

Anyone with information on the burglary is asked to contact police on 101, quoting incident number 82 of 10th November. Alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
