Eden District Council in partnership with Cumbria Council for Voluntary Service (CVS) is running a series of free Grant Finding workshops in Penrith, Appleby, Kirkby Stephen and Alston aimed at helping community and voluntary groups in Eden.
The dates and venues for the workshops are as follows:
- Penrith – Friday 30 November 2018 Committee Room, Town Hall 10am – 12 noon
- Appleby – Tuesday 29 January 2019 The Bennett Room, Appleby Hub 2 – 4pm
- Kirkby Stephen – Wednesday 20 March 2019 Kirkby Stephen Local Links, Vicarage Lane 10am – 12noon
A workshop will also be held in Alston in May 2019, the exact date and venue is to be confirmed, but places can be reserved now for those interested in attending.
GRANTfinder is Europe’s largest and most comprehensively supported funding platform of its type and after a brief demonstration of this online grant finding tool, attendees will have the opportunity to carry out their own GRANTfinder search and generate a report of results to take away.
The workshops will be led by Mark Costello from Cumbria CVS who has successfully run similar workshops in other parts of Cumbria. Mark said: “We are pleased to be working with the Leisure and Communities Team at Eden District Council to be able to offer these workshops throughout Eden. We are inviting people to come along with ideas, a laptop or tablet and find out about sources of funding for their project or organisation.”
Sally Hemsley, Communities Officer at Eden District Council said “Funding is becoming increasingly hard to find these days and making applications is a time consuming process. Knowing which funding streams are right for your particular project or organisation is half the battle and this is where the GRANTfinder online tool can help match criteria and projects.”
Booking is essential to reserve a place on any of the workshops. Telephone Mark Costello on 01768 800350 or email: [email protected]
