New non-executive director for North Cumbria’s hospital trust

Jeff O’Neill

North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust is pleased to welcome Jeff O’Neill to the Trust Board as a non-executive director. Mr O’Neill, a chartered account, was formerly the Global director of finance of North Group, an international marine insurance group of companies based in Newcastle upon Tyne.

Mr O’Neill has been appointed following a comprehensive recruitment and selection process, approved by NHS Improvement.

Having relocated to Cumbria from the North East in 2014, Mr O’Neill, who lives in Great Salkeld near Penrith, said:

“I am looking forward to making a contribution to the governance of the local hospitals trust at a challenging but exciting time. I hope to bring my experience from the private sector for the benefit of the Trust’s Board.”

Gina Tiller, chair at North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust said:

“I am delighted to welcome Jeff to the Board in his new role as non-executive director. He has much experience to offer and I am sure he will be a great asset to the Board. I’m very much looking forward to working together.”

Mr O’Neill has taken up the post with the Trust in November 2018 for a two year term of office.
