Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was seriously injured in a road traffic collision involving two cars, on the A69 last night (Thursday, November 23.)
Officers were called to the scene on the eastbound carriageway between Throckley and Lemmington at around 10.25pm after receiving a report of a two-vehicle collision.
Emergency services attended and one of the drivers, a 24-year-old woman was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle with serious injuries which are believed to be life-threatening.
One lane of the A69 and the slip road was closed for a number of hours while the vehicles was recovered.
Police are now urging anyone who saw what happened in the moments leading up to the collision, particularly passing vehicles with dashcam footage, to get in touch.
