Person trapped in A66 crash

At 4:56pm yesterday, Friday 24 November, two fire engines from Workington and Cockermouth attended a road traffic collision involving two vehicles on the A66 Cockermouth bypass.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “One casualty was rescued by fire service personnel, utilising small tools.

“Crews were in attendance for approximately thirty minutes.”

The A66 was closed while emergency services dealt with the scene.

Any witnesses are asked to call Cumbria Police on 101.
