Police are appealing for witnesses following a road traffic collision that occurred at approximately 7am today (27th November) in the area of Nelson Bridge near Victoria Viaduct, Carlisle.
The collision involved a female pedestrian aged in her 30s and a Mazda car driven by a man also aged in his 30s.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The pedestrian is currently being treated at the Cumberland Infirmary for serious injuries and concussion that were initially thought to be potentially life changing.”
Police are appealing for anyone who may have seen the incident and have dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward to contact police quoting log 30 of the 27th November 2018.
The road was closed for a period of time and reopened at approximately 11:20am having been examined and surveyed.
