MP congratulates Christmas card competition winner

Tim with competition winner Ellie Taylor

South Lakes MP Tim Farron has announced the winner of his annual Christmas card competition.

He presented the first prize to Ellie Taylor, aged 7, at Heron Hill Primary School this morning.

The card will be sent to over 40,000 homes across Tim’s constituency.

Alice Baddeley, aged 6, of Leven Valley Primary School in Backbarrow came second in the competition, whilst third place went to Megan Harris, aged 8, of St Oswald’s CE Primary School in Burneside.

Ellie Taylor’s winning design

Tim said: “I had great fun choosing the winner but it was not an easy decision!

“The Christmas card competition gets harder and harder to judge each year as the standard of entries just keeps going up, but Ellie’s design really stood out.

“She did a brilliant job and I am delighted that her work will now be seen and admired by thousands of South Lakes residents.

“I’d like to say a huge thank you to all the pupils who took part and wish all of them a very Merry Christmas!”
