Discount parking now available in Workington multi-storey car park

Councillor Michael Heaslip

Users of the Washington Square multi-storey car park in Workington can now access discounted parking thanks to its new early bird scheme.

Parking will cost £2.50 all day for those who arrive between 7am and 9am and leave between 4pm and 7pm. Allerdale Borough Council, which operates the car park, is offering the deal each week from Monday to Friday.

The Council has had responsibility for running the multi-storey car park since August 2017. It has since run a series of offers to make parking more accessible to visitors and residents, including free parking during the town’s late night shopping events from 4pm until 8pm on Thursday 6th, 13th and 20th December.

Councillor Michael Heaslip, Executive member with responsibility for environmental quality, said: “The multi-storey car park is a great facility in an ideal location for those who visit and work in the town centre. We want to make it as easy as possible for people to access the town, so this offer is an excellent deal for those who spend a lot of time in Workington.“
