More than £6,300 was raised for local good causes at the 2018 Carlisle Fireshow (Saturday, 3 November).
A large crowd attended the biggest and best Fireshow in the North and made sure it was a sparkling success. The event was the 31st Fireshow staged by Carlisle City Council. This year’s event commemorated the 100-year anniversary of The People’s Act when some women got the right to vote.
The £6,352.83 collected on the night will benefit the Rotary Club of Carlisle (South) and the Mayor’s Charity Fund whose main beneficiaries this year are: NSPCC, Age UK and the British Heart Foundation.
The presentation of the cheque to Rotary South, in the sum of £3,176.42, will take place at the Civic Centre on Wednesday 19 December at 11am.
In excess of 35,000 people attended the City Council event, organised in conjunction with Merlin Fireworks Ltd.
