Manchester man arrested in Windermere assault investigation

Officers investigating a serious assault in Windermere of a 69-year-old man from Sunderland have made an arrest.

A 59-year-old man from Manchester was arrested today on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent.

He is currently in police custody.

Officers would still like to hear from anyone with information about this incident who is yet to come forward.

A spokesman said: “We would like to thank those who shared our CCTV appeal and those that contacted police to help them with their enquiries.”

Police urge anyone with information who hasn’t come forward on to contact them on 101, quoting incident number 201 of 16th December 2018. Alternatively you can contact the independent charity Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
