Pedestrian seriously injured in Workington collision

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious road traffic collision on the A596 near to Workington Golf Club at around 7.30pm on Sunday 16th December.

The collision involved a silver Renault Van heading towards Workington and a 54-year-old man.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The pedestrian was transferred from Carlisle Infirmary Hospital to Royal Victoria Hospital, Newcastle, suffering a serious head injury. His condition is described as stable but serious.”

Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to contact PC 2190 Batley on 101 quoting log number 229 of 16th December 2018.
