It’s been another fun filled week for those attending Keswick Live Advent with singing, Christmas wishes and plenty of mulled wine, mince pies and pancakes.
Amy’s Care and the U3A recorder group had a good old sing song at Keswick Museum last Friday and over the weekend Santa Claus paid a visit to Kong Adventure followed by Santa Paws at Podgy Paws. Following a last-minute change of venue, Present Moment lit their advent window which was filled with decorations made by the Keswick Beavers. There was more singing at Fultons Lakes Jewellery Works and half price pancakes for all at The Wild Strawberry. The highlight of the week was the return of the much-loved Thwaites Brewery Shires horses with Santa riding in the Dray Wagon.
It’s hard to believe that another Keswick Live Advent is almost over but there are still a few more events to enjoy before Christmas Day. KTA Tourism Officer, Vanessa Metcalfe said “It’s been another busy week and with only a few events remaining I would encourage people to come along and get involved. It really is a great way to get into the Christmas spirit. There will be a cheese and fruit cake tasting at The Cheese Deli, special offers on fudge at Roly’s Fudge and the Keswick TIC window will be lit.
Topping it all off on Christmas Eve there will be a special encore performance of The King & I at the Alhambra Cinema with all of the proceeds being donated to the Cumbria Community Foundation’s Winter Warmth appeal.”
Once all the windows have been lit you can follow the Live Advent window trail and vote for your favourite window. The windows will remain lit until 5th January and voting will close on 6th January.
