Firefighters tackle Workington skip blaze

At 8:20pm yesterday, Saturday 22 December firefighters from Workington attended a fire involving an industrial skip on Solway Road, Workington.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, two main jets, one hose reel jet, hydraulic cutting gear, small tools and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.

“Crews were in attendance for approximately one hour and thirty minutes.”
