Man hurt in Workington attack


Police are investigating an assault which occurred at about 3:34am on Sunday 30 December.

A 37-year-old man from Workington was punched in the mouth causing a split lip.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The assault occurred in the smoking area of Padua’s on Washington Street in Workington.

“The offender was a white male.”

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone who can identify the offender to contact PC1581 on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
