Man hurt in racially aggravated assault in Carlisle

Police are investigating a racially aggravated assault that occurred on Church Street, Carlisle at approximately 2:40am on Tuesday 1st January 2019.

The male victim in his 20s sustained minor facial injuries.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The suspects are described are believed to be one male wearing a white shirt, aged late 20’s with brown hair, approximately 6ft 2 in height. One other male was described to be wearing a white hoody, no further description.”

Police are appealing for witnesses and help in identifying any potential suspect(s). Anyone with information should call PC 2695 J Reed on 101 quoting log 70 of 1st January 2019 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
