Police are appealing for witnesses as part of inquiries into a road traffic collision. The collision occurred on Thursday 20th December 2018 at around 4:20pm on Newtown Road, Carlisle.
The collision involved a Vauxhall Astra and a pedestrian, a local 92-year-old woman.
A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The driver of the Astra, a man in his 70s from Carlisle, received no injuries.
“The woman was taken to the Cumberland Infirmary with injuries believed to be minor.
“Yesterday (2nd January), the police were made aware that the woman had died whilst attending an appointment at Cumberland Infirmary. Inquiries are ongoing into the cause of death, including whether there is any link to the collision.”
Police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision or anyone with dashcam footage to contact police on 101 quoting log number 147 of the 20th December.
