A MOTORIST has denied a charge which alleges she caused serious injury to a pedestrian by dangerous driving in Whitehaven.
Karen Matthews, 61, appeared at Carlisle Crown Court earlier today (TUES).
During a short hearing, Matthews pleaded not guilty to one charge.
This alleges that, on August 26 of 2017, she drove a Renault Clio S dangerously, at Rosemary Lane in Whitehaven, and thereby caused serious injury to Ian Lithgow.
In view of her not guilty plea, a timetable for the progression of the case was agreed by lawyers.
Matthews, of Harbour View, Whitehaven, was told her trial at the crown court is due to start on March 18.
It is estimated this hearing will last two days.
In the meantime, Matthews was granted unconditional bail by Judge Peter Davies.
