Firefighters tackle A595 blaze

At 7:43pm yesterday, Sunday 13 January three fire engines from Wigton, Aspatria and Carlisle West attended a fire involving shipping containers on the A595.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Firefighters used two hose reels and compressed air foam system to extinguish the fire.

“Crews were in attendance for two hours thirty minutes.”
