At 1:40pm today, Monday 28 January two fire engines from Whitehaven attended reports of a house fire at a domestic property on Fleswick Avenue, Whitehaven.
On arrival crews discovered a fire involving a downstairs living room in a two storey semi-detached domestic property.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “Crews used four breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.
“First aid was administered to two pet guinea pigs by fire service personnel.
“Fire crews were in attendance for approximately one hour and fifty minutes.”
