THE number of people who admit being involved in a huge plot to supply heroin and crack cocaine in north Cumbria has risen to eleven.
On Friday at Carlisle Crown Court, nine men appeared before a judge and pleaded guilty to one charge of conspiracy to supply class A controlled drugs between June 1 and November 23 last year. They included men with addresses in the Carlisle, Penrith and Wigton areas, and others based around Merseyside.
They have been prosecuted as part of a Cumbria police investigation into “county lines” illegal substance supply.
And this week, two more people – a man and woman – pleaded guilty to the charge when they appeared before a judge at the crown court.
They were Leon Frank Kenyon, 47, of Osborne Avenue, Carlisle, and 32-year-old Storme Abrahams, of Mill Street, Longtown. Both admitted conspiracy to supply class A controlled drugs.
Kenyon and Abrahams were each told they will be sentenced for their respective roles on a date to be fixed.
In the meantime, both were remanded in custody by Judge Davies.
