Person rescued from industrial sander in Carlisle

At 3:39pm today, Tuesday 5 February fire engines from Carlisle East, Carlisle West and Longtown were mobilised to a major entrapment rescue on California Road, Carlisle.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “On arrival crews found one casualty trapped in an industrial sander.

“Crews used small tools and a pedal cutter to release the casualty.

“The casualty was left in the care of the paramedics.

“Crews were detained for approximately twenty minutes.”
