Firefighters tackle Kendal kitchen fire

At 7:54am today, Tuesday 12 February two fire engines from Kendal and Windermere went to reports of a building fire on Highgate, Kendal.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “On arrival firefighters quickly dealt with a fire in kitchen.

“They used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel, a thermal imaging camera and a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear residual smoke.

“Fire crews were detained at scene for approximately fifty minutes.”
