Pedestrian dies after Penrith collision

A pedestrian injured in a road traffic collision that occurred on Bridge Lane, Penrith on Monday the 28th of January 2019 has subsequently died.

A Cumbria Police spokesman said: “The pedestrian, Mr Colin Jeffery, 72, from Penrith passed away on Monday the 11th of February 2019 following the collision.

“Mr Jeffery’s family are in touch with a Police Family Liaison Officer at this time.  The driver of the Mercedes Van involved in the collision is also assisting Police in their enquires.”

The van driver a 66-year-old man from Wigan suffered no injuries.

Police would like to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or been in the area at the time to contact PC1947 Ross of the Mobile Support Group on 101.
