At 8:47pm yesterday, Wednesday 20 February fire engines from Carlisle East, Carlisle West and Longtown were mobilised to a domestic building fire on Willow Holme Road, Carlisle.
On arrival crews found a fire involving a flat.
A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “One person was rescued from the premises.
“Crews used one hose reel, two breathing apparatus, a thermal imaging camera and one large hammer to extinguish the fire.
“Crews were in attendance for approximately one hour and thirty five minutes.”
