Two taken to hospital after Barrow kitchen fire

At 12:26pm today, Thursday 21 February three fire engines from Barrow, Ulverston and Walney attended a persons reported fire on Ewan Close, Barrow-in-Furness.

A Cumbria Fire and Rescue Service spokesman said: “The fire involved a kitchen in a domestic property.

“Firefighters used two breathing apparatus, and one hose reel to extinguish the fire.

“Two casualties were transferred to hospital by ambulance.”
